Artisan Day returns to Local Roots

Local Roots Market and Café begins the 2011 round of Artisan Days at the market on Saturday, March 19. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., stop by the market to meet many of the artists, crafters, and other artisans selling their products at Local Roots and find out what new projects they’ve worked on over the winter.

The artisan members have a wide variety of beautiful and practical items available for sale: wool and handspun yarn, needle-felted jewelry and hats, knitted garments, pottery, handmade greeting cards, wooden cutting boards and serving trays, finely-crafted jewelry, and much more. Whether you’re looking for a birthday gift, a small thank-you, or a special treat for yourself, you’re sure to find something unique at the market.

Other events scheduled for the March Artisan Day include:

- music by Sarah Goslee-Reed

- samples from various producers

- a workshop on soil testing and amendments, led by producer member Ervin Miller (held at 2 p.m.; cost is $3 per member, $5 for non-members; pre-registration required)

Welcome spring at Local Roots with a day filled with the tastes, sounds, and sights of the local community!

As a year-round market for locally-produced foods and other agricultural products, Local Roots Market is located at 140 S. Walnut St. in Wooster.
