Gardening and preserving class scheduled for April 7

By Ron Becker

Do you want to learn how to make compost? How about whether you should use seeds or transplants to plant your garden? Maybe you want to know how to control the pests that you’re going to have problems with in your garden. If any of these sound like topics you might be interested in, you may want to consider coming to the Gardening and Preserving 101 class that The Ohio State University Extension Wayne County office will hold at the Wayne County library April 7. A previous class had to do with planning your garden. This class gets into the nitty-gritty of putting the garden out and caring for it throughout the summer.

The class will be held at the main library branch in Wooster, from 6-8 p.m.

There is no cost to attend this meeting, as it is sponsored by the library. However, preregistration is requested by contacting the library at 330-262-0916, or by signing up at their website at http://www.wayne.lib.oh.us/. More information can also be obtained by contacting the Wayne County Extension office at 330-264-8722.

Ron Becker is an OSU Extension Agricultural and Natural Resources program coordinator and may be reached at Becker.4@osu.edu.
