The Jam Session was conceived by James Levin, director of Wooster’s Center of Entrepreneurship and the founder and artistic director of the acclaimed Ingenuity Festival, which takes place in downtown Cleveland each year. Levin’s chief faculty collaborator, Alyssa Wilmot, a visiting professor of dance at Wooster and an alumnus of the college, has produced similar festivals in the bay area of California.
The Wooster Jam Session welcomes artists of all backgrounds, from ensemble and solo music performers, to rock bands, dancers, and theatrical artists, as well as video and film artists, photographers, jugglers, buskers, and magicians. The deadline for registration is April 1. Participants can apply online at http://www.woosterjamsession.com.
The Jam Session will also feature food and beverages, and is a refreshing weekend escape from the daily grind, as well as an inventive re-use of the historic fairgrounds.
