Renacci votes in support of two pro-job energy bills
This week, Congressman Jim Renacci voted in support of two bills that will create American jobs and decrease the dependence on foreign energy sources.
HR 1229, the Putting the Gulf Back to Work Act, passed the House on May 11 by a vote of 263–163. HR 1231, the Reversing President Obama’s Offshore Moratorium Act, passed the House on May 12 by a vote of 243–179. It would lift the president’s ban on new offshore drilling by requiring the administration to move forward on American energy production in areas containing the most oil and natural gas resources.
“With skyrocketing gas prices financially crippling families and business across the country, I will continue to support an ‘all of the above’ energy policy that includes American oil, coal, wind, nuclear, solar and biofuels,” Congressman Renacci said. “The administration has actively blocked and delayed American energy production, which has destroyed jobs, increased energy prices and made the U.S. more reliant on foreign sources of energy. The legislation passed this week is a great start to reversing the Administration’s misguided energy policies.”
Both bills are part of the American Energy Initiative, a policy initiative instituted by House Republicans to lower gas prices, create American jobs, and increase American energy production.
