Richard Becker
Richard “Dick” Becker, 73, of Wooster, died June 13, 2011, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Dick was born June 6, 1938, in Wooster, the son of the late Milo G. and Helen Becker. He was a 1956 graduate of Wooster High School. He retired as a mail carrier after 36 years and served as union president for more than 50 years.
Dick enjoyed watching his grandchildren with their sports and was an avid golfer, bowler, and card player. He and his wife, Betty, enjoyed bus trips. Dick was a member of the Elks and the Moose Lodges.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Phillabaum-Glasgo Becker, to whom he had been married 53 years; sons, Douglas of Fredericksburg, Kelly (Patty) of Dalton, and Todd (Cindy) of Shreve; grandchildren, Courtney, Aaron, Dillon, Michaela, Logan, Eric, and Brianna; great-granddaughter, Alexa; and adopted brother, Phillip Becker.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jensen.
Services will be held June 16, at 11 a.m., at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with Rev. Tim Hull officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received June 15, from 5-8 p.m.
