Betty J. Stanford, 77, of Wooster, died July 23, 2011, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Betty was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Sterling, to the late Friend and Mildred Eikleberry, and had been a Wayne County resident all her life. She had worked for Rexroth and then with the former Diebold Co. as a shipping clerk in Wooster, retiring after 10 years of service. She was a member of Heyl Road Church of Christ, Wooster.

Surviving are a son, Scott (Robbin) Stanford of Wooster; granddaughter, Anna Stanford; sisters, Goldia Pratt of Wooster and Nancy Varner of Big Prairie; and brothers, Harold Eikleberry and Clair Eikleberry, both of Shreve, and Mark Eikleberry of Loudonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Stanford.

Memorial services will be held July 31, at 7 p.m., at Heyl Road Church of Christ, Wooster, with Eli Troyer and Robert “Butch” Rogers officiating. Private family interment has taken place.
