Auditions for A Christmas Carol will take place August 18 and 20

The Wayne County Performing Arts Council (WaCPAC) will hold auditions for its upcoming Readers Theatre performance of the Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, that will take place Dec. 9-11. Auditions will take place Thursday, August 18, from 6-8 p.m. in the East Conference Room and on Saturday, August 20, from noon to 2 p.m. in Meeting Room One at the Wayne County Public Library, 220 W. Liberty St., Wooster.

Actors will be asked to do a cold reading from the script that will be provided at the auditions. Roles are being cast for characters ages 12 and older, male and female. Rehearsals will start during the last week of September and will take place twice a week until performance week.

The Readers Theatre is reminiscent of radio shows of the past. Actors read from the script while also performing and making some minor costume changes. And of course there are sound effects. The performance will take place on Friday, Dec. 9, Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11.

WaCPAC is a nonprofit performing arts organization that has been providing performing arts opportunities in Wayne County for nearly 30 years.
