The WCAL’s governing body cited rising costs for officials and equipment as the primary reason for the increase in ticket prices. Fans are advised to check with their home schools for ticket-plan packages.
“The last increase in ticket prices was 2000,” said Chuck Long, league secretary. “We are confident that our fans will understand the reasons for the new price structure, and we know that they will continue to support the more than 1,000 student-athletes at our eight member schools.”
The 2011-2012 season began Friday night, August 26, when football kicked off the 89th year of the Wayne County Athletic League.
