Amish boy killed crossing the road

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a pedestrian fatal crash that occurred on Oct. 28, at 5:06 p.m. The crash occurred on Kohler Road south of U.S. 30 in Sugar Creek Township.
 
Danny H. Miller, 8, of Kohler Road was struck as he was attempting to cross the road by a northbound vehicle driven by William Schuler of Orrville. The young boy was reportedly attempting to cross from one family home to another at the time he was struck.
 
The crash remains under investigation. There is no suspicion of alcohol or excessive speed as a cause in this crash.
 
Ohio State Patrol Lt. Chad Enderby, reminds motorists to be alert while driving on rural roadways and expect to encounter slow moving vehicles or pedestrians. Wayne and Holmes counties are heavily populated with Amish families who often travel by foot or bicycle.
