Alta was born August 19, 1924, in Holmes County, to the late Alvin and Lizzie Ann Mullet. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are sons, Delbert (Marie) Erb of Millersburg, Mose (Naomi) Erb, Earl (Freda) Erb, and Norman (Norma Jean) Erb, all of Sugarcreek; daughters, Lizzie Ann (Crist) Miller of Millersburg, Mary Ellen (Daniel) Miller of Apple Creek, Viola (Ivan) Yoder of Reedsville, Wis., and Martha (Levi S.) Troyer of Sugarcreek; 37 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Erb, whom she married June 24, 1948; a great-grandson; four sisters; and a brother.
Services will be held Nov. 22, at 9 a.m., at the Levi S. Troyer residence, Sugarcreek, with Bishop Andy A. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Erb Cemetery, Clark Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home, Sugarcreek.
