‘Twas autumn ’11 and all through the town

The buzz of Josh Krajcik was going around.

His voice is angelic, (of course we all knew)

And the world was about to discover it too.



We sweated and fretted and all held our breath

While our passion increased the puff of our chests.

As the weeks brought us hope, we dared to feel joy

‘Cuz America rooted for our own hometown boy.



And out from the city came a swell of support

That was heard ‘round the world regardless of votes.

But the votes were all there and the singer fought on!

The whole world wanted to hear his next song.



A miracle happened; this spirit of cheer.

An intensity we haven’t felt in some years.

Each street seemed to echo the same bluesy song.

United in pride, we all sang along.



The ending was not the significant thing.

It was love of the sport that pulled our heartstrings.

As Christmas drew close and neighbors united,

The community bonded with hearts so delighted.



The story’s just started as long as we dream it

And continue to stand side by side.

Like one giant family we watched Josh achieve it

And for us he’s reached the sky.



The question to ask, “Were we up to the task?”

Every man, woman or kid.

To answer if whether we all came together,

We can proudly proclaim, “We did!”
