Margaret Bears
Margaret Anne “Peggy” Bears, 62, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Columbus, died unexpectedly Jan. 10, 2012.
A daughter of Marion Bears of New Philadelphia and the late Robert M. Bears, Peggy was born August 20, 1949, in Wabash, Ind. During her childhood, the family relocated to the Wooster area, where Peggy became a 1967 graduate of Wooster High School. She went on to study education at The Ohio State University, Columbus. She spent more than 25 years as a manager with Huntington National Bank, serving for a number of years in the Tuscarawas Valley prior to relocating and completing her career in the Columbus area.
Peggy was a gifted artist who enjoyed sketching and painting as well as making handmade jewelry and beadwork. She was a passionate animal lover and enjoyed looking after and caring for her two dogs, Skibber and Boo, as if they were her own children. Another of Peggy’s passions was traveling, as she enjoyed vacationing in any area close to a warm beach and the ocean waves.
Peggy is survived by sisters, Kathy Bears of Uhrichsville and Lori Bears of New Philadelphia; brother, Mike (Patty) Bears of Sandy Lake, Pa.; nieces, Megan Bears and Skylar Newton; and nephews, Josh (Mindy) Bears, Bob Bears, Wesley Newton, and Marcus Newton.
Private services will be held at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with cremation care being conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory, Dover.
