For many years, I worked with Travis Hutchinson at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, where we were both deputy sheriffs. I recently had the opportunity to meet with Travis and talk to him about his campaign for Wayne County Sheriff. I could feel his enthusiasm and desire to be a strong sheriff built on his common sense approach to law enforcement. I was impressed by his desire to discuss his ideas and goals with the people of Wayne County and to listen to our concerns.

Travis Hutchinson has the knowledge and ability to be the kind of leader that the Wayne County law enforcement community needs. He is one of the few deputies in the department who has hands on experience in the law enforcement, corrections, and civil divisions. In addition, he supervised and helped develop the community maintenance program where inmates from the jail did community service while incarcerated. Sgt. Hutchinson also supervised the security operations at the Wayne County Common Pleas Court. His varied experiences will serve him well in the office of sheriff.

During his 30-plus years of service to the citizens of Wayne County, Sgt. Hutchinson earned the loyalty and respect of his co-workers and the people of Wayne County. Travis Hutchinson will be a people’s sheriff who will “serve and protect.” Law enforcement has changed over the years, but there will always be a need for honesty, common sense, and experience - that is what we will get if we elect Travis Hutchinson for sheriff.
