The College of Wooster Dance Company will present its annual spring concert April 19-21, at 8:15 p.m., in Freedlander Theatre, 329 E. University St. Tickets go on sale April 9 and can be purchased at the Freedlander Box Office. College of Wooster students are admitted at no charge. Ticket information is available at the box office by calling 330-263-2241.

This year’s concert features international performance/sculptural artist Sha Sha Higby, whose dances include detailed handmade sculptures that create an entirely new kind of performance. In addition, director Kim Tritt, professor of theatre and dance at Wooster, will present an original piece, titled Breathing India: A Contradiction with a narrative written by Shirley Huston-Findley, associate professor of theatre and dance at Wooster.

Also featured are student choreographers Aaron Yi and Stephanie Andrus, both seniors, as well as Darius Dixon and Annie Woller, both juniors, and Amadi Washington, Shakera Blackmon, and Shannon McKnight, all sophomores.

The student lighting designers, under the direction of Dale Seeds, are seniors Bronwyn Schlaefer and James Lance, junior Kaleigh Richards, and sophomores Benjamin Pfister, Kent Sprague, and Chelsea Gillespie. Jody Tidwell has designed the lighting base plot, and the sound for the concert will be coordinated by Chuck Findley.

Additional information about the concert is available by contacting Chelsea Gillespie at 419-205-7896 or cgillespie14@wooster.edu.
