Edna Hostetler

Edna M. “Maude” Hostetler, 80, of Orrville, died April 20, 2012, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, following a period of declining health.

Maude was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Orrville, the daughter of the late Milton W. and Ila Berg. She was united in marriage to Irvin “Irv” Hostetler on Dec. 15, 1950. He died in 2011.

Maude was a 1949 graduate of Orrville High School and had been employed as a school bus driver for Orrville City Schools for over 30 years. She retired in 2002. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Orrville.

Maude was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan, and loved her children and grandchildren.

Maude is survived by children, Nancy (Steve) Prechtel of Wadsworth, Jerry Hostetler, Jan (Fred) Miller, and Mike (Tina) Hostetler, all of Orrville, and Sue (Rick) Oswald and Pat Wirth, both of Wooster; grandchildren, Josh (Mandi), Joe (Megan), Kirk, Matt (Sarah), Mike (Rachel), Mollie (Josh), Alec (Jessica), Craig (Maria), Sarah, Steph, Andy, Tanner, and Lauren; great-grandchildren, C.J., Cali, Colby, Cameron, Carson, Andrew, Blake, Ella, and Brantley; brothers, Norm (Connie) Berg of Florida and Merle (Arlene) Berg of Orrville; and sisters, Marge (Richard) Lehman of Orrville, Nellie (Jim) Nickles of Smithville, and Jo (Bill) Hudson of Ashtabula.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ron Wirth; and brother, Curtis Berg.

Private family services will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours, and in accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place.
