Adult learners receive scholarship awards

The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) recently announced the awarding of more than $417,000 in scholarships to adult learners who are returning to college to obtain a two- or four-year degree. These scholarships assist students throughout Wayne County to reach their goal of higher education.

The WCCF is indebted to the many donors and community organizations that continue to generously support the foundation’s scholarship program,stated Lacie Neal, development coordinator. For many donors, there is no greater joy than making higher education possible for deserving recipients.

This year’s new award recipients include: Jacob Blough, Wallace and Catherine Lytle Family Scholarship and Sprenger Health Care Scholarship; Sheryl Grubb, Don and Lisa Drumm Scholarship; Kayli Hostetler, Aharon Woodruff Scholarship; Judy Powers, Julius Fejes Scholarship; Shannon Pozworski, Carlos Appleman Scholarship and Zody Miller Scholarship; Richard Reynolds, Magni-Power Company William C. Martin Jr. Scholarship; Nathan Rosengbaum, Robert C. and Jean Seiwert Engineering Scholarship; Suzanne Shook, First National Bank Scholarship; Allen Smith, First National Bank Scholarship; Sara Tegtmeier, Clinton E. Missler Agri-Scholarship; Rebecca Thomas, Wooster Motor Ways Taylor Funk Memorial Scholarship; Rosa Weaver, Wayne County Nursing Consortium Memorial Scholarship; and Neil Widmer, Magni-Power Company William C. Martin Jr. Scholarship. In addition, 47 scholarships were renewed to last year’s recipients.
