Golf scramble supports Every Woman's House

The Friends and Neighbors of Every Woman's House will welcome golfers to their annual benefit scramble on Friday, August 10. Funds from event participation, donations and tee and green sponsorships directly benefit Every Woman's House, and the event as a whole promotes public awareness of the emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Friends and Neighbors of Every Woman's House will hold its annual benefit golf scramble at Mohican Hills Golf Course in Jeromesville. On Thursday, August 9, a four-person women's team scramble will take place, followed by a men's scramble on Friday, August 10.

The $75 per person golf package ($300 per team) includes breakfast, team photos, 18 holes of golf with cart, refreshments on the course, lots of great gift baskets, and a catered lunch. There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

Individuals and local businesses have donated an array of exciting prizes for this worthwhile cause. To register, contact Jen Warden at 330-749-5468, or by email at jwarden@gpubs.com.

This event is one of the fundraisers of Friends and Neighbors of Every Woman's House. Funds are raised by event participation, donations, and tee and green sponsorships. All monies raised go directly to Every Woman's House. Last year, the golf benefit scramble raised more than $14,000.

Friends and Neighbors of Every Woman's House is supported by more than 500 members, with membership open to anyone in the community. This group provides funds for Every Woman's House (EWH), promotes public awareness of the EWH emergency shelter, and sponsors shelter programs.

Every Woman's House is the only domestic violence shelter serving Wayne and Holmes counties. In addition to offering 24-hour emergency shelter, Every Woman's House provides individual and group counseling for adults and children, advocacy and victims' assistance, a 24-hour toll-free helpline, community education, and referral services. The work of Every Woman's House to promote healthy, non-violent families in the community is essential to the well-being of the community.

For further information on the golf outing, or to make a donation, contact event co-chair Mary Schantz at 330-201-0625.
