Wooster Catholic Daughter attends 54th biennial convention

Margi Oller

Margi Oller and Diana Boldman recently attended the Catholic Daughters of the Americas 54th Biennial National Convention July 17-22 in Omaha, Neb.

Oller, who holds the position of Ohio State Regent and member of Wooster Catholic Daughters Court #1073, and Diana Boldman, First Vice Regent Ohio State Court and member of Wooster Catholic Daughters Court # 1073, met with state officers and members from across the country at the convention, which is held every two years.

“This was my first national convention and a wonderful experience for me,” Oller said. “I was able to meet fellow officers at the state level from across the country. I discovered that, while there are geographic differences between us, we in Wooster and throughout Ohio share much with Catholic women across the country and territories. I received the honor of being elected as a national director of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

“One thing that really made a strong impression on me at the convention was the dedication of service by the members. I’m excited to bring this new insight as well as other understandings and new ideas back to my parish, my local court in Wooster and throughout Ohio.”

Oller is a member of Court Wooster #1073. She has been a member for five years. She worships at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wooster.

In addition to currently holding the position of Ohio State Court Regent, Oller has also been court recording secretary for five years, and was elected Catholic Daughters of the Americas national director at the convention 2012-2014. She has also served as convention chairperson for the Ohio State Convention in 2011 held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Wooster, and the upcoming Ohio State Convention May 17-19, 2013, also at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Margi Oller is married to Jim, and they reside in the Fredericksburg area. Jim is retired and enjoys fishing, while Margi is involved with the Catholic Daughters work. They have been married for 55 years and have one son, Jeff, who is currently residing in Redford, Mich. He will leave late in August for a year in the Ukraine teaching English to adults and teens.
