Construction is progressing on Melrose Drive in Wooster, with the contractor completing the initial pavement work between Hickory and Milltown Road. Sidewalk and drive approach work is now being done in this area and should be completed within the next two weeks, weather permitting.

Terra Valley Excavating is also working on finishing the storm sewer work south of Hickory to Cher Court. Once this portion of storm sewer is complete, the contractor will begin earthwork activities and lay the stone base for the roadway. Work on this section should be completed within the first two weeks of September, depending on existing site conditions and the weather.

The last section of storm sewer to be done will be the Portage Road to Cher Court area and is scheduled to be completed by mid-September. Immediately following the completion of the storm sewer, the contractor will begin the earthwork and roadway activities. Access to Melrose Elementary will be maintained by using Armstrong Drive and Sunset once school begins.

Substantial completion is anticipated to be mid-November. This will include all work except for final grading, seeding and plantings; those items will be completed in early spring.
