Race to benefit Operation Christmas Child

Those wearing a Christmas costume will have a chance to win a prize. There also will be refreshments and face painting. Awards will be given to individuals and families.

The Ohio East Area Team of Operation Christmas Child is sponsoring a Family Fun Trail 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Norma Johnson Center, located at old state Route 39, Conservation Drive in Dover.
 
Those wearing a Christmas costume will have a chance to win a prize. There also will be refreshments and face painting. Awards will be given to individuals and families. The race will be a chip-timed event. 
 
Register online at register.chronotrack.com/r/32107 by Aug. 18 and receive a free T-shirt. Participants also may register the day of the event, beginning at 8 a.m.
 
Each registrant is required to bring two of the following shoe box items: a school supply item or small stuffed animal, doll or toy that would fit inside a shoe box. All proceeds will go toward shoe box items and shipping of shoe boxes. For more information call T. Raber at 330-440-4428.
