Career Center's orientation set for Aug. 16

Student/Parent Orientation for all Wayne County Schools Career Center high school students will be Wednesday, Aug. 16 from 1-6 p.m. Students and their parents may attend anytime during that time frame.
 
Students will get their schedules, have their parents complete information forms, have their student identification photo taken and attend an orientation meeting with their parents.
 
Optional stops will include parking permits, checking eligibility for school fee waivers and free or reduced lunches, and being measured for uniforms. A list of programs requiring uniforms will be available.
 
Students may walk through their schedule to locate their classrooms and meet with their career-tech instructor. School counselors will be available to answer questions.
 
Classes will begin Monday, Aug. 21 for first-year students and Tuesday, Aug. 22 for second-year students. School will start at 8:05 a.m. for most students and end at 2:31 p.m.
 
Students arriving before 8 a.m. must report to the commons. Second-year practical nursing students will begin each day at 7:20 a.m. in their classrooms.
 
The school will continue to offer breakfast. A student breakfast is $1.25 and 30 cents for students on reduced prices. An adult breakfast is $1.50.
 
Lunch prices are $2.75 for students, 40 cents for students on reduced prices and $3.25 for adults. Extra milk is 40 cents.
