New business supports the arts

Dave Handwerk, mayor of Orrville, left; Carol Ubelhart, co-owner; Jessica Oswald, co-owner; and Lori Reinbolt, Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce president, stand together at the ribbon-cutting for The Red Bucket.

The Red Bucket is open for business at 229 W. Market St. in Orrville. It is a new retail store that has a mission to share its passion for unique home décor and gift items that serve as a venue for artists to share their wares and talents.
A ribbon-cutting, coordinated by the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce, was hosted on Friday, Nov. 3.
Co-owners Carol Ubelhart and Jessica Oswald said, “We are excited for the store to officially be open.”
They spent a lot of time renovating and removing old items from the space that was formerly part of the Dutch Country Apple Dumpling facility.
Shoppers can expect to find items such as jewelry, pottery, upcycled furniture, candles and textiles. Merchandise will change from month to month as artists bring in additional items.
After the first of the year, Studio 229, located in the back of The Red Bucket, will open as a creative space. There will be classes available to the public as well as it being a space for artists to use.
